Ruth “Dink” Golden, 70, of 114 Nancy Drive #203, departed this earthly life Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Murfreesboro, N.C., and the daughter of the late Estelle Jennings and Joseph Ruffin. She was predeceased by sisters, Novella Owens, Lois Goodman, Doris Wood and Lula Rodgers; brothers, Willie Ruffin, James Ruffin and Robert Ruffin.
Ms. Golden was a clerk employed at Joyner’s Motel. She was a member of New Paul’s Temple Holiness Church of Deliverance where she was a member of the Mass Choir, Pastor’s Aid Committee and the Building Fund Committee. She leaves to cherish her memory: an adopted daughter, Angela McQuillia (Travis); adopted son, Micah Lee; devoted niece, Margaret Clayborne; devoted nephew, Wilson Newby Jr.; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, June 14, 2010 at New Paul’s Temple Holiness Church of Deliverance, 720 Hosier Road, conducted by Pastor Catherine B. Skinner. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
