Second-grader suspended for knife

A second-grade student at Elephant’s Fork Elementary School has been suspended for bringing a knife to school.

Bethanne Bradshaw, a spokesperson for Suffolk Public Schools, said in an email on Tuesday that the student was showing the knife off to friends on Friday. One of those children then told a teacher, who reported the child to the office.

Following School Board policy, the student was removed from class, and administrators have recommended that he be expelled, Bradshaw stated.
