Counterfeit check suspect sought

Suffolk Police are asking the public for help in identifying a suspect involved in passing counterfeit checks.
Investigators report an individual passed a counterfeit check on May 31 in the amount of $210.93 at the Food Lion on Town Point Road in North Suffolk at approximately 4:30 p.m. Roughly 40 minutes later, the same individual passed a second counterfeit check at the Walmart located on College Drive. That check was in excess of $500.
Police have released images from a surveillance video from the locations and have described the suspect as a black male with light skin.
Anyone that might be able to identify the subject is asked to contact Crime Line at 1-888-Lock-U-Up. Callers do not have to give their name or appear in court. If the caller’s information leads to an arrest, the caller could qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.
