A wreck involving two tractor-trailers on U.S. Route 58 eastbound in Chesapeake backed up traffic into Suffolk Thursday morning.
The accident occurred at 10:14 a.m. One of the tractor-trailers was traveling eastbound on the road directly across from the Hampton Roads Executive Airport when another tractor-trailer pulled in front of the first off a cut-through, said Officer Dorienne Boykin, public information officer for the Chesapeake Police Department.
One of the trailers was empty, Boykin said. The other was hauling trees.
The at-fault driver was charged with failure to yield the right-of-way. One driver was transported to the hospital with injuries that were not considered serious, Boykin added.
