Pope, Gunn exchange vows

Glynda Erin-Marie Pope and Kevin Earl Gunn exchanged vows May 22, 2010, at the Rock Church in Franklin. The Rev. William L. Cribb officiated the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Lois and Lin Darden of Franklin and Glen and Karen Pope of Suffolk. She is the maternal granddaughter of Thomas and Rose Marie Umphlett of Suffolk and the paternal granddaughter of Daisy Pope and the late Clayton H. Pope, also of Suffolk.

The groom is the son of Earl and Susan Gunn of Courtland. He is the maternal grandson of William and Virginia Bailey Sr. of Franklin and the paternal grandson of Lillian Gunn and the late Marvin B. Gunn Sr. of Courtland.

Helen Griffin, aunt of the bride, served as mistress of ceremonies. Jessica Jervey, friend of the bride served as maid of honor. Kelly Drake, friend of the bride; Mattie Pope and Tara Darden, sisters of the bride; and April Carr and Crystal Gunn, sisters of the groom, served as bridesmaids.

Earl Gunn, father of the groom, was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Jonathon Whitley, Allen Butler and Kendall Brock, friends of the groom; and Bubba Carr and John Brownfield, brothers-in-law of the groom.

Logan Carr, nephew of the groom, served as ring bearer, and Brooklyn Walters, niece of the bride, served as flower girl. Tina Fowler, friend of the bride, was the program and guestbook attendant.

The soloist was Kelly Drake, who sang “From this Moment” as the bride was escorted down the aisle by her father.

The reception was held at the Agri-Center immediately following the ceremony.

The three-tiered paisley cake was made by Karen Pope, stepmother of the bride. Flowers were arranged by Helen Griffin, aunt of the bride, and programs were created by Lois Darden, mother of the bride.

The photographer was Jon Kent, and the videographer was Nick Blount. The music was provided by Wayne Cooke.

After a honeymoon cruise to the Bahamas, the couple will reside in Courtland.
