Yvonne V. Flagler, 53, of 903 Freeney Ave., passed away Aug. 19, 2010, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She was a native of Suffolk and the daughter of the late Marvin W. Gray and Bernice V. Gray.

She was also predeceased by two sisters, Elizabeth Jones and Clarice Gray.

She attended Suffolk High School. She retired from Sentara Obici Hospital after more than 20 years. She was a member of Covenant Community Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Leroy Flagler; three sisters, Janie L. Gray of Virginia Beach, Emma Chisman of Yorktown, and Evelyn Hunt of Franklin; four brothers, Marvin Gray Jr. (Doris), Robert Gray and Anthony Gray, all of Suffolk, and Michael Gray of Orlando, Fla.; four aunts, Violet Sumblin of Franklin, Evelyn Jenkins of Courtland, Betty Council of Suffolk and Shirley Funches of Courtland; a special nephew, Ricky Gray of Norfolk; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held on Wednesday, at noon in Covenant Community Church, 3504 Robs Drive, officiated by Pastor Harold McPherson. Interment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will also assemble at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Wednesday for the procession to the church.
