Anna Pinner Cohn, 86, died September 10, 2010, at her residence in Norfolk.

Born in Suffolk, she was the daughter of the late Anna and Donald C. Pinner. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Benjamin B. Cohn.

Mrs. Cohn was the director and owner of Prince & Princess Day School. She taught for six years in South Norfolk Public Schools in sixth grade, and six years at Barbara Jacobs Day School, where she taught first grade.

Mrs. Cohn was the past president of the Virginia Early Childhood Education Association, Tidewater Chapter, and a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

Survivors include her son, Donald Cohn, and his companion Lonie Rorabaugh; grandsons Andrew Cohn of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Jason Cohn and wife Lindsey of Morehead City, N.C.; sister, Peggy Smith of Spartanburg, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Holly Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Franklin L. See. Memorial donations may be made to Sentara Hospice, 535 Independence Pkwy, Suite 200, Chesapeake, VA, 23320 or any SPCA chapter.
