To the Editor:
It is 9:14 a.m., and I am sitting in my office at Baltimore County Public Schools Office of Engineering and Construction reading your article on the induction of Ronald O. Hart into the North Carolina A&T University’s football hall of fame. I am so happy for Mr. Hart and his family.
North Carolina A&T University is noted for producing great teachers, accountants, astronauts, and administrators, and Mr. Hart was one of the great teachers and my daughter is one of those accountants (Aggie Pride).
Mr. Hart was my biology teacher during the time I was in the 10th grade at John F. Kennedy High School in 1966-67 and one of the things I remembered most about being in his class was the notes, we took a lot of notes in his class, and I still have one my books of notes from Mr. Hart’s class.
Mr. Hart and I were members of Metropolitan Baptist Church, so I made sure I did well in his class, because he could report any bad class habits to my mom on Sundays and at choir rehearsal. So I made sure to keep my notebook up to date and pass all tests and exams.
I can truly say without a doubt that Mr. Hart was one of the many great teachers and role models at Kennedy High School during that era, and I am a product of the effort that teachers like Mr. Hart put in to make sure that we were prepared to face the world once we graduated.
Thank you for the article.
