Forbes looks out for future generations

To the editor:
I am an American taxpayer. Right now, my share of the national debt is over $118,000. It is one thing that I am being required to foot the bill for Washington’s out-of-control spending, but it is another when I look at my children and realize the weight that they will bear for something they have no control over right now.
While our children may not have control over the future of our nation right now, we as older Americans do. And I believe that it is our responsibility to make sure that we leave our children and grandchildren with a brighter future than our own.
We get to make that choice on Nov. 2, and I am undoubtedly casting my vote for Congressman Randy Forbes. Randy has stood against the tide of spending in Washington, voting against the bailouts and stimulus bills under the current administration and the previous administration. He has cosponsored a balanced budget amendment and a bill to prohibit raising the debt limit without a two-thirds vote from all of Congress.
Congressman Forbes isn’t looking ahead to tomorrow. He’s looking ahead 10 and 20 years from now and thinking about the future generations to which we will hand this nation. That is the kind of leadership I want in Congress.
