To the editor:

With this fast approaching City Council election, I have some real concerns for Suffolk during the next four years.

The past four years have truly been transparent, as council suggests. It has been easy to see clearly through the foursome’s objectives. It is time to break up the clique.

What is puzzling is that they obviously don’t think their constituents have a clue as to what is going on behind closed doors. They were not elected to prosper by deal-making for personal gain.

We definitely need new leadership and honesty across the board. Influences by the higher echelons, big-business’ backing and deals made on the golf course must stop.

We have very qualified candidates ready to restore respect and honesty to our city.

I have been very impressed with J.B. Varney and the knowledge and experience he brings to the city. I fully support him and urge you to do the same.

It is time to make a clean sweep on Nov. 2.
