Linda Bouchard defeated opponent Dorothy Bland Gamble to win election to the School Board’s open Chuckatuck seat.

Incumbent William Whitley, the vice chairman of the board, is stepping down after 18 years of service.

Both women have a long history in education. Bouchard taught in Suffolk Public Schools for 20 years.

Gamble currently teaches special education in Chesapeake public schools.
