For the first time ever, Holy Neck voters on Tuesday sent a City Council representative back to City Hall for a second term.
Councilman Jeffrey Gardy defeated challenger Jennings “J.B.” Varney to win election to his second term.
Gardy, a lawyer, ran his campaign by stressing the teamwork among he and other members of the City Council.
Varney, a former member of the Board of Supervisors in Botetourt County, hoped to unseat Gardy.
