Ida Mae Baker, 85, of 2400 Carolina Road, Suffolk, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010 at Nansemond Pointe Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late Mary Faulk Ledbetter and Theodore Sykes; stepfather, William Ledbetter.

She was a member of Mineral Spring Baptist Church and served as the former president of the senior choir.

She leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Elder Harvey Lewis III (Anita), Lloyd Lewis and Brian Copeland; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian E. Jones and Rozelia Foreman (Leroy); two brothers, Romie Linwood Ledbetter (Costellar) and James W. Ledbetter Sr. (Evelyn); devoted nieces, Wanda Jones Harrell, Jennifer Ledbetter Phillips; devoted nephews, Philbert Williams; devoted cousins, William and Mary White; other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2010 at Mineral Spring Baptist Church, 4849 Mineral Spring Road, Suffolk officiated by the Rev. Barry Sessoms with Elder Harry Lewis III, eulogist. Interment will be in the Langston Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Lillian Jones, 2404 Carolina Road, Suffolk.
