Suffolk Police are seeking a man who allegedly broke into a residence and assaulted his ex-girlfriend Monday.
Warrants are on file for Gene Alton Holloway, 47, for burglary with intent to commit rape, attempted rape, abduction with intent to defile, assault and battery and destruction of property. Police believe Holloway lives in the Saratoga area of the city, according to a press release from city spokeswoman Debbie George.
Police accuse Holloway of forcing entrance to his ex-girlfriend’s home on Reno Street Monday and assaulting her. The victim’s mother interrupted the assault by knocking on the window, after the person the victim had been talking to on the phone alerted her to the break-in.
The victim sustained minor injuries, George added.
Anyone who knows Holloway’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Callers to Crime Line never have to give their names or appear in court, and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
