Anna B. Koontz, 88, of Lake Monticello, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010 at her home.

Born Feb. 16, 1922 in Page County, she was the daughter of the late Ivan D. Koontz and Edith Koontz.

She was a graduate of Madison College and received an MED at the University of Virginia. She taught biology in the Suffolk school system and was later librarian there.

Survivors include her sister, Dorothy K. Copeland, and dear friend and companion Ruthanna Foard, as well as three nieces and two nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010 at Fork Union Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Joe Almond officiating. Interment will be at 3 p.m. at the Mount Zion Church of the Brethren cemetery in Luray, Va. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at Hill & Wood Funeral Home.
