Oakland Elementary School is closed today because its power and heat are not working, according to a press release from a schools spokeswoman.

The entire area is without power, spokeswoman Bethanne Bradshaw said. Dominion Virginia Power estimated service would be restored between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Parents were asked to pick their children up by 10 a.m.
