Xplosion has perfect 3-peat

The Xplosion U12 soccer team, from Suffolk FC and Suffolk Youth Athletic Association went undefeated and won the Virginia Soccer League for the third straight season this fall. The Xplosion, the first girls select soccer team for Suffolk FC/Suffolk Youth Athletic Association, is a perfect 3-for-3.

In the Xplosion’s three seasons since its founding in fall 2009, the Xplosion has won three VSL championships with three undefeated seasons.

The Xplosion is now a U12 team and in addition to VSL league matches, it’s had success in multiple tournaments. The Xplosion won the Adidas Labor Day Shootout in Greensboro, N.C., was a finalist in the Sun Cup in Virginia Beach and a semifinalist in the WAGS tournament in Northern Virginia and the CASL tournament in Raleigh, N.C. For 2010, the Xplosion went 9-2-1 overall in tournaments.

The coaches are proud of the girls’ growth and success as a team. The Xplosion’s looking forward to participating in the State Cup in the spring.
