City offices closed at noon because of the inclement weather and treacherous road conditions, a city spokeswoman announced.

All Parks and Recreation after-school and evening activities also have been canceled for the day, city spokeswoman Debbie George said in a press release.

George added that police and rescue workers are handling numerous accidents around the city. Drivers are urged to stay off the roads if possible, she said.
