George Alan Wills, 72, died Jan. 1, 2011. A native of Suffolk, he was a son of the late Claire L. and Victor Leigh Wills Sr. He was predeceased by his brother, Victor Leigh Wills Jr.

Alan was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, Suffolk Kiwanis Club and was a former Mason. Alan went to work for C&P Telephone when he was 18 years old and retired as a superior when he was 52 years old. He loved fishing and worked at Lake Meade and Lake Cohoon.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Meade Wills, and one daughter, Karen Ann Wills, of Suffolk.

A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert J. Parks with burial in Holly Lawn Cemetery. A reception will follow the graveside service at Main Street United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday.
