Two teens were arrested on Wednesday and charged with robbing a third teen as he left Lakeland High School for the afternoon on Monday.
A 16-year-old and a 17-year-old were charged with one count each of robbery, abduction and conspiracy to commit a felony following the incident, which occurred at about 2:15 p.m.
According to Suffolk spokesperson Debbie George, the victim was approached by two suspects as he left school. He was grabbed and held by one of the subjects while the other took his wallet. The victim was not injured.
School officials worked together with police on the investigation, George stated in a press release, and identified the two suspects, who are also students. They were arrested Wednesday morning.
School officials said that both students charged with the robbery have been recommended for expulsion, George said in her release.
The suspects were being detained at Chesapeake Juvenile Services.
