Fire caused significant damage to a home in the 1000 block of Truman Road on Saturday morning and displaced the family that lived there.
The fire in the single-story home was reported at about 3 a.m., according to Suffolk spokesperson Debbie George, who noted in a press release that Suffolk firefighters found heavy fire at the rear of the home when they arrived on the scene.
Firefighters brought the fire under control within about 25 minutes, she said.
The house sustained about $65,000 in damage, but there were no injuries, George said.
The Suffolk Chapter of the American Red Cross was working to help out the victims. George said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
