The Lord called Hazel Ruth Langston Jefferson home on Jan. 28, 2011.

Born March 7, 1922 in Nansemond County to the late Bill Tom and Seabyrd Langston, she accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Whaleyville, Va. Hazel loved the Lord. Her favorite expression was “Thank God for Jesus.” Hazel’s husband Linwood Jefferson, brother George Langston and sisters, Billie and Colleen Langston, preceded her in death. Left to mourn her passing are oldest sister, Ellen Palmer, sister-in-law Ernestine Langston, niece Brenda Orie (Joe), who cared for her, and a host of nieces and nephews.

There will be a private graveside service. The family asks that all expressions of sympathy be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
