Virgie Mae Boone Cherry departed this life early Wednesday morning, Feb. 9, 2011. She was the widower of the late Jessie Lee Cherry.

She is survived by her daughter, Marvia Cherry Goode (Rev. Joseph), of Suffolk, Va.; a son, William Cherry, of Atlanta, Ga.; two grandchildren, Jacques Cherry (Teressa), of Davidson, N.C., and Tara Eubanks, of Richmond, Va.; a great-granddaughter, Summer Hawes, also of Richmond, Va.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Holy Neck Road in Suffolk, officiated by the Rev. Joseph H. Goode, pastor emeritus.
