SUFFOLK — Carol “Sue” (nee Naes) Von Rump, 65, passed away after a brief illness on Feb. 9, 2011 at Maryview Medical Center, Portsmouth, Va.

Mrs. Von Rump enjoyed needlework, spending time with her granddaughters, reading, traveling, and camping. She was an active member of FCRV National Camping Organization. She was a graduate of St. Louis University and a retired home health care registered nurse. She was an active member of her church and president of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Woman’s Club.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Burnell Naes, of St. Louis. Carol is survived by her husband, David, of 44 years; daughters, Dana D’Amato and husband, Mark, of Richmond, Cynthia Jones and husband, Richard, of Brownhills, England, Deborah Jarman and husband, Paul, of Portsmouth; grandchildren, Michaela D’Amato and Alexandra Jarman.

The family will receive friends at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, 5685 Lee Farm Lane, Suffolk, VA 23435 from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011. A funeral Mass will be held at the St. Mary of the Presentation Catholic Church, 202 S. Broad St., Suffolk, Monday, Feb. 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. Interment will be held at the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Condolences may be registered at www.bakerfoster.com.
