Early in the morning of Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, David L. Warren entered into eternal rest after a rough battle with cancer. He was born to David M. Crocker and the late Geraldine W. Crocker.

He was a 1986 graduate of John Yeates High School and also graduated from Alpena Community College. He was employed as a maintenance manager with Allied Concrete, LLC, for 24 years. He was a member of New Gospel Temple. He was a former member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, where he was in the Male Chorus, Mass Choir and an usher.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine W. Crocker; maternal grandparents, Alexander M. Warren and Betty Warren; paternal grandparents, John T. Crocker and Pauline Moore Crocker; three aunts, Rosa Mae Taliferro, Corrine Crocker and Bettie Goodwin; three uncles, Alexander Warren, Miles Crocker and Thomas W. Crocker.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Doressa V. Warren; four daughters, Quaneisha Tatum, of Lithonia, Ga., Dressia I. Waldo, Davinah A. Warren and Demetrias G. Warren, all of Suffolk; his father, David M. Crocker (Alisha), of Suffolk; four sisters, Maria A. Ricks (Charles), of Suffolk, Angela M. Crocker, of Newport News, Ashley Crocker and Amber Crocker, both of Fredericksburg, Va.; two brothers, Eric B. Crocker (Marcia) and Thomas W. Crocker (Sharon), both of Suffolk; maternal aunt, Mary Ann Wright, of Chesapeake, Va.; two paternal aunts, Emily Crocker and Evelyn Eley, both of Suffolk; two maternal uncles, John H. Warren, of Suffolk, and Willie B. Warren, of Isle of Wight County; one paternal uncle, James S. Crocker, of Suffolk; six nieces, Shameka Warren, Erica Key, Simone Ricks, Latrasha Crocker, Destiney Bell and Reagan DuBose; three nephews, Latavis Crocker, Charles Ricks Jr. and Aiden Crocker, one great-niece, Akeera Warren; mother-in-law, Vanessa Walker; sister-in-law, Curetta Williams (Deshon), of Suffolk; brothers-in-law, Curtis Holliman of Houston, Texas, and Trenton Holliman, of Suffolk; a special sister, Mary Eden; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011 at New Mount Joy Food For Living Ministries, officiated by Supt. Gerald Goodman. Interment will be in Nansemond Suffolk Cemetery.
