HAMPTON — Jordan Wood and Scott Prillaman renew their battle for the $10,000 Pro Series championship Saturday as Arena Racing Hampton Roads hosts the TowneBank 200 to benefit the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society at the Hampton Coliseum. It is the 11th meet on Arena Racing’s 15-event 2010-11 schedule.

Saturday’s Pro Series lineup includes a trio of 50-lappers. The top six finishers from the A Main and the top four from the B and C Mains advance to the evening’s headlining event — the 50-lap Top Dog race. The Youth Series (known as the “milk-and-cookies” division) is slated for a pair of 30-lap contests.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for the pre-race pit party, an excellent chance for fans to meet the drivers and get an up-close look at the cars. Racing gets under way at 7. Drivers will also be available to meet fans on the concourse at the conclusion of the Top Dog race.

Wood and Prillaman are one-two in the Pro Series point standings. If Wood can hang on to claim the title, he’d bring the trophy back home to Chesapeake and end its three-year stay in Suffolk. Prillaman was the titlist in 2007-08. Adam Florian is the back-to-back series champ.
