Shirley Ann Babb, 73, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went to be with the Lord Feb. 28, 2011 at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C. She was the daughter of the late George Smith and Anne Boone, and the widow of Clarence Lee Babb Sr. Shirley was a longtime member of Wilroy Baptist Church and worked as a pharmacy associate for Rx 4 Less.

Survivors include her sons, Clarence L. Babb Jr. and wife, Judy, of Raleigh, N.C., Wayne Babb and wife, Susan, of Suffolk; daughter, Teresa Roberson and husband, John, of Suffolk; grandchildren, April L. Cutchins, Christopher K. Babb, Justin R. Babb, Daniel H. Roberson; six great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara O’Neal and husband, Richard; and brother, William Boone and wife, Vonda.

A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Wilroy Baptist Church, 306 Williams Road, Suffolk, VA 23434 by the Rev. Timothy Rawls, with burial at Cypress Chapel Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W.
