Suffolk police are investigating a single-vehicle accident early Sunday that took the life of a woman.
The crash occurred in the 400 block of Glen Haven Drive about 1:41 a.m., according to city spokeswoman Debbie George. A 2005 Chevrolet pickup driven by William Davis, of Carrsville, was traveling westbound on Glen Haven when it left the roadway to the right.
The truck then continued into the ditch, hit a culvert and traveled through a yard, where it flipped two and a half times, George said. It came to rest upside down.
Two passengers, Dustin Bishop and Hollyann Heinrich, suffered serious injuries. Heinrich later died of her injuries at the hospital.
Police still are investigating the cause of the crash, George said.
“There is some indication that alcohol was involved, but it is still under investigation as to whether or not it contributed to the accident,” George said.
