Clinton L. “June Bug” Cofield Jr., 63, entered into eternal rest with his heavenly Father on March 16, 2011 at MCV-VCU Cancer Center in Richmond, Va. He was born in Nansemond County to the late Clinton L. and Sallie Cofield Sr. He was predeceased in death by his sister, Carolyn J. Cofield.

He attended Suffolk Public Schools and served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army from November 1966 to 1968. He was an avid fisherman, and a former member of Tabernacle Christian Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Brenda Strothers Cofield; two daughters, Felicia Brown (David) and Pamela Reid (Daryl), both of Suffolk; two sons, Terrence Williams (Annette), of Suffolk, and Tyrone Williams, of Petersburg, Va.; 12 grandchildren; three brothers, Richard Cofield, of Suffolk, Walliyyuddin Shakir (Brenda), of Hampton, Va., and William Walker (Ethel), of Henderson, N.C.; two aunts, Juanita Diggs, of Henderson, N.C., and Mildred Jawaad, of Waterbury, Conn.; one uncle, Haywood Walker (Mary), of Henderson, N.C.; a special foster sister, Neloise Darden, of New York; five sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Tabernacle Christian Church with Bishop Carlton R. Upton Sr. officiating. Entombment will be at Carver Memorial Cemetery.
