Sylvia Ann Stallings, 70, of 2308 Hosier Road, Suffolk, passed away Friday, March 25, 2011, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She was a native of Corapeake, N.C., and the daughter of the late Jerry McCoy Riddick and Mandie Mae Riddick.

She retired as a bus driver for Suffolk City Schools. She was a member of Balm of Gilead Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang in the senior choir.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Joanne Stallings and Thomasene Stallings, both of Suffolk; four sons, Thomas Stallings Jr. (Annette), Terry Stallings (Patricia), and Kelly Stallings, all of Suffolk, and Karl Stallings of Franklin; 13 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; one sister, Clara Hopkins of Suffolk; one brother, Charlie Riddick (Elizabeth) of Suffolk; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

A funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at Mt. Ararat Christian Church, 1860 Airport Road, Suffolk, where the Rev. Dr. H. Harvey Murrill is pastor. Interment will be in Balm of Gilead Cemetery.

The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Stallings, 1334 Lawson Circle. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
