Mildred Gayle Whitfield, 78, of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., passed away March 28, 2011.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 31, 2011, at noon at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, VA 23434 with the Rev. William Scott Holland officiating. A time of visitation will follow the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Poplar Spring Cemetery in Franklin, Va.
