A Suffolk police officer who was arrested last month on charges in Fairfax County has received more charges stemming from the same case.
Officer James Holecek now is charged with computer trespass, as well as the original counts of profane, threatening or indecent language over public airways and causing the telephone to ring with intent to annoy.
Holecek was originally arrested in February after an incident that occurred in January.
According to Officer Tawny Wright, spokeswoman for the Fairfax County Police Department, officers there responded to a report of a telephone threat in the 4400 block of River Bed Way in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County on Jan. 16 at 1:44 p.m.
Officers determined the allegations were domestic in nature, Wright said.
Computer trespass “basically is when someone hacks into somebody else’s email or social media,” Officer Wright said.
Holecek “allegedly got into the victim’s social media page,” Wright said. She would not specify which social media site was involved.
After the February arrest, Holecek was placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.
