Lindsay Downing peruses the clothing options available at the Cradle and All consignment sale. The event lasts today through Saturday.

Shoppers will be able to find anything from cribs and clothing to toys and teddy bears at the Cradle and All consignment sale this weekend.

The sale takes place at the Crittenden, Eclipse and Hobson Ruritan Club, 8881 Eclipse Drive, today and Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. It is free to attend.

The sale features racks filled with spring and summer clothing, a whole room of items for babies, a ton of toys and books and a patio filled with outdoor toys.

Coordinators Ruth DiGeorge and Alice White applied strict standards for items they accepted for the sale — nothing broken, torn, dirty or in bad condition. Even the toys had to have batteries.

“If we keep the standards high, people will want to come back,” DiGeorge said.

Those who attend can expect to find the items for about 75 percent, or more, off the retail price today and Friday.

On Saturday, shoppers will be able to get any items with tags written in black ink for half the consignment price.

DiGeorge said this is the first consignment sale with a focus on children’s items in North Suffolk.

“It’s a good area, and it has great need (for a sale),” she said.

About 60 consigners will offer various items for both girls and boys of all ages, DiGeorge said.

“It’s a good turnout for a first-time sale,” she said.

DiGeorge and White plan to make this a semi-annual event in North Suffolk. In fact, DiGeorge said, they have another sale planned for August.

She added she hopes the sale will encourage people who were unsure about consigning or did not have the time to participate in the next sale.

“They can shop for what they need and decide if they want to put their time into the sale next August,” she said. “It’s a great way to earn some money and allow people to get some great things.”
