Two people were seriously injured in a head-on collision Saturday morning on Bridge Road.
The drivers of both involved vehicles were taken by ambulance to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with injuries that were thought to be serious, but not life-threatening, according to Suffolk spokesperson Debbie George.
George said a third person was in one of the vehicles but was not seriously injured.
The accident took place at 11:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of Bridge Road on the Crittenden Bridge, which crosses Chuckatuck Creek at the Suffolk-Isle of Wight border.
One of the drivers had to be extricated by Suffolk Fire and Rescue crews, she said.
George was unable late Saturday afternoon to identify the injured drivers or describe the cause of the accident. Police continue their investigation, she said.
