Jessie Mae Carr, 85, passed away May 10, 2011, in Sentara Obici Hospital.

Born in Edenton, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Carrol W. and Eula Jordan. She was predeceased by her husband, David H. Carr; brother, Carol W. Jordan Jr.; sister, Ima Jean Rawls.

Survivors include her son, Floyd Bennett and wife, Ellen, of Suffolk; grandchildren, Paula Jodun and husband, Glenn, of Suffolk, and Cheryl Bennett; great-grandchildren, Paul Jodun and Glenn Jodun; sister, Doris Howell and husband, Jarvis, of Suffolk; brothers, Odel Jordan and wife, Anne, of Chesapeake, and Sammy and wife, Judy, of Suffolk.

A graveside service will be conducted Friday, May 13, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Dr. Willis Dowling. The family will visit with friends beginning at 10:15 a.m. R.W.
