To the editor:

Representative Randy Forbes does not represent my views on several subjects.

According to the newspapers, he has voted against heath care, against closing an unnecessary military command called U.S. Joint Forces Command, and against sending an aircraft carrier to Florida.

He must not remember Pearl Harbor. We had the entire Pacific Fleet in one port, and that led to a disaster.

We should bring all prisoners held at Guantanamo Bay to the United States for trial or release them. Close the prisons and then give the naval base there back to Cuba.

We should remove troops from Germany, Japan and Korea. We have served in these countries for more than 60 years. It’s time to bring our troops home. Then, remove all troops from Iraq and Afghanistan.

These cuts would pay for health care for all of our citizens with no increase in taxes and a balanced budget, as well.
