SUFFOLK — Pamela M. Turner, 78, of Suffolk, Va., passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011, at her beloved Shibui Ni Farm. Born in Petersfield, England, she came to this country in 1970 when she married Dr. Thomas Turner. As a child, Mrs. Turner grew up fox hunting and galloping steeple chase horses, and that passion continued throughout her life. She became enamored with the unique character, versatility, and athletic ability of the Arabian breed of horse and developed a breeding program to promote the Arabian as a sport horse. Always seeing the bigger picture, she founded and was president of the Arabian Sport Horse Association. In addition, Mrs. Turner remained steadfast in her knowledge and tireless dedication to encouraging the art of true classical horsemanship.
