Suffolk police have located and arrested a man accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend and throwing the couple’s baby to the ground.

Dennis Roosevelt Harden Jr., 30, of the 1000 block of Davis Boulevard, was apprehended early Tuesday morning, city spokeswoman Debbie George said.

Police say Harden assaulted his ex-girlfriend on Friday and then brought their 7-month-old daughter to the mother’s apartment and threw her to the ground. The child’s grandmother found the baby on the ground, but Harden had fled the scene.

Harden evaded arrest twice before being captured. He is charged with assault, child endangerment, resisting arrest and obstruction of justice.
