Suffolk police are searching for a man they say assaulted a city worker Thursday while he was doing his job.
Warrants are on file for Alvah Reginald Blackley Jr., 48, of the 200 block of Woodrow Avenue.
The victim was operating a crane truck to pick up bulk refuse near the suspect’s home when the suspect emerged from a house and “began yelling and cursing at him,” city spokeswoman Diana Klink said.
Klink said the city worker finished picking up the trash and began to climb down from the controls when the suspect allegedly swung a small stick.
The victim suffered a laceration to his forearm but was otherwise uninjured.
Police believe the suspect was intoxicated at the time, Klink said.
Blackley had not been arrested as of Friday afternoon.
