“This award is very important to me, because I know furthering my education in college is optimal for my career pursuit,” he said. “Financing this education is a task I am taking on with great diligence.”

Estienne’s aspiration to obtain a career in agriculture showed through his academic record, leadership qualities, extracurricular activities and personal essay submitted as a part of the application process.

“Bobby is above and beyond the average student,” said Ronald Daughtrey, FFA advisor at Lakeland High School. “He is an excellent leader and the kind of kid you like to see receive a scholarship.”

Commitment to Ag Scholarship winners must be from a farming family, plan to enroll as a full-time student in an agriculture-based program at an accredited school and commit to obtaining a career in agriculture. Winners are chosen based on their strong academic record, leadership skills and extracurricular activities.
