Don’t repeat developer’s mistakes

To the editor:

What do we need more of in Suffolk right now?

The developers of Foxfield on Pitchkettle Road think we need more houses and townhouses. They are asking for an increase in density to 286 units when they haven’t found it economically feasible to build a single unit since acquiring the property four years ago.

How many empty lots and houses for sale do you see every day? Do we need another cleared neighborhood built out to 15 percent because the market isn’t there?

Let’s not let a developer’s poor, shortsighted decision rope Suffolk into doing the same.
