James Thearthur Kindred Sr., 68, died Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Va.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Friday, July 15, 2011, at King Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, 6300 Old Myrtle Road, Suffolk, officiated by Bishop John H. Kindred. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Friday for the procession to the church.
