The Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts is holding $1 movies every Friday through Aug. 5.

On July 29, the film “Stuart Little” will play. On Aug. 5, “Bridge to Terabithia” will be shown.

Tickets are $1 for each film, which are both rated PG and begin at 1:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door, but call 923-0003 to reserve space for groups or for more information.

Bicycle trail ride planned

The Suffolk Department of Parks and Recreation plans a scenic bicycle trail ride through Lone Star Lakes Park on Saturday.

The 12-mile ride will begin at 8 a.m. at Lone Star Lodge, 1001 Pembroke Lane. All riders are asked to bring their trail bicycle, helmet and a bottle of water. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. For more information, call 514-7258.

Zumba classes scheduled

The East Suffolk Recreation Center now offers Zumba classes.

Classes for the Latin rhythm workout are scheduled on Thursdays from Sept. 8 through Oct. 27 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. A fee is $25 is required for the eight-week class.

Gospel groups sought

The Suffolk Department of Parks and Recreation is sponsoring “Suffolk’s Best Gospel Showcase” on Oct. 9 at the Suffolk Peanut Festival. Gospel choirs, praise dance or mime ministries and soloists are encouraged to participate. Applications can be picked up at the Suffolk Parks and Recreation administrative offices, 138 S.
