Henry Lee Chaney, 67, of South Hill, Va., died July 28, 2011. He began his ministry in Suffolk and was the retired senior pastor of the South Hill Church of God, having a very successful ministry there for 20 years.

He was survived by his wife of 50 years, Daisy Asbell Chaney; his daughter, Ella Laasaoui and husband, Chafik, of South Hill; two sons, Henry L. Chaney Jr. and wife, Angie, and Benjamin T. Chaney and wife, Susan, all of Suffolk; five grandchildren and one great-grandson; three sisters, Ethel Hudlow, of Forest City, N.C., Margaret Mansfield, of Suffolk, and Rose Dyke, of Elks Creek; three brothers, Herman Chaney, of Suffolk, Johnny Chaney, of Nashville, N.C., and Jack Chaney, of Mississippi.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday at the South Hill Church of God, with interment in Holly Lawn Cemetery in Suffolk at 3 p.m. Visitation will be Saturday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory, South Hill.
