Brenda Lee Simpson, 47, of 926 Diggs Court, Suffolk, died Friday, July 29, 2011, at her residence. She was a native of Suffolk and the daughter of the late James R. Faulk Sr. and Geraldine Outlaw.

She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Sheela Batchelor and Gloria Batchelor, both of Suffolk; one son, Mark Simpson, of Newport News, Va.; two sisters, Willie B. Bryant (Alvin), of Suffolk, and Carolyn Harris (Alvin), of Newport News; seven brothers, Jasper A. Simpson, of Cambridge, Md., Michael Simpson, Larry Outlaw, Garry Outlaw, Andrew Outlaw, James Outlaw and James Faulk Jr., all of Suffolk; three grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, at Rising St. James PHC officiated by Bishop Dwight Whitfield. The body will be placed in the church at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 3 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
