Clayton Pearson, 73, of Tarboro, N.C., died Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Courtland Healthcare Center, Courtland, Va. He was a native of Nansemond County and the son of Salias Pearson Sr. and Martha Vick. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Belle Pearson.

He retired from the Elm Coated Warehouse as a packer.

He leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Diane Pearson Ruffin; one sister, Rever M. Thomas; one brother, Silas Pearson Jr.; a brother-in-law, Andrew Outland; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
