TGIF concert canceled because of air quality

Tonight’s TGIF concert has been canceled because of air quality concerns.
The scheduled band, “The English Channel,” called off its performance because of the Code Red air quality alert now under effect.
A Code Red alert means that the air is unhealthy for everyone. The general public, even those who do not typically suffer from respiratory conditions, may experience mild health effects. Sensitive groups, such as children, older adults and those with chronic heart or lung illness, may have more serious health problems.
The next TGIF concert is set for Aug. 26. The Silver Street Band is scheduled to play from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Bennett’s Creek Park, 3000 Bennett’s Creek Park Road.
