Alexander Sinkfield, 64, of 1157 Hodgesferry Road, Portsmouth, Va., died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at the Norfolk Naval Base. He was a native of Dayton, Ohio and the son of the late Leonard Sinkfield and Odessa Scott. He was the husband of Sandra Porter Sinkfield.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at New First Baptist Church, officiated by Dr. Lemuel Greene. Interment will be in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
