Thelma Evans Nowell, 84, of Suffolk, Va., passed away on Aug. 23, 2011. A native of Princess Anne County, Virginia Beach, Va., she was the daughter of the late Ralph Beauregard Evans and Mary Joyner Evans. She was also predeceased by her husband, Cecil Lee Nowell; her daughter, Deborah Lesner, and her son, Cecil Richard Nowell. She was a member of Trinity Christian Church.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law: Diane and Jimmy Collier, of Conway, N.C., and Marsha Martin, of Petersburg, Va.; son and daughter-in-law, William B. and Nelda Sue Nowell, of Windsor; eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Ellen Goodwin, and brother, Leslie Evans.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory with the Rev. Byron McCreary officiating. Entombment will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
