Are you listening to the smoke?

From inland Virginia to the borders of North Carolina, residents are being overwhelmed by the sight and smell of smoke. This smoke stems from the Great Dismal Swamp, where its cause has been determined to be lightning — lightning that man himself cannot cause and cannot hinder from coming to pass. Therefore, we must conclude that God is up to something.
The Bible informs us that God will never again destroy the Earth by flood (Gen 9:11), but that the final destruction of the unbelievers will be by fire. Smoke is a sign that fire is present. So are we listening to the voice of God through the smut of the smoke? Are we listening to the voice that says, ‘Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand?” Or are we, like the people of Noah’s day, continuing on with life in a way that displeases God?
The truth of the matter is this: God, to me, is real.
If those of old did not listen to His sent out ones, will the people today believe? Maybe not, but He’s speaking!
“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, but He is extraordinarily patient toward you, not desiring that any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance.” — 2 Peter 3:9
